Ross Couch – ‘Bullets’ Out On Farplane Records Today

Posted on by rosscouch in News, Releases, Video | Leave a comment

For the past five years or so I’ve been releasing all my original material through my own Body Rhythm label, and I have no plans to change that for now, but recently I did make one exception.

If you’ve been following what I’ve been up to lately then you’ll know that I recently did a remix for the music maestro Rasmus Faber of his track, “Good Times Come Back”, and around the same time late last year he also approached me and asked if I would be interested in doing an original release on his Farplane Records imprint.

Of course I was flattered as I feel Rasmus is one of the most talented producers in the dance music scene, but what made it even more intriguing was that he already had a vocal recorded that he wanted me to a build the track around.

I gave it a listen and loved it immediately and felt it was very much in keeping with what I do given that it was quite emotive and told a story with just a few words.

So I agreed to do it, and I’m happy to say that today marks the official release of ‘Bullet’s’ featuring three different mixes I came up with for the release featuring the vocals of Emily McEwan who you may be familiar with from some of Rasmus’ biggest hits like ‘Are You Ready?’ and ‘Ever After’.

How To Buy:

The release is available in a bunch of different record stores including:

BEATPORT : TRAXSOURCE : JUNO DOWNLOAD : iTUNES : FARPLANE RECORDS

Ross Couch – Body Rhythm Remixed Vol.3 – Promos Out At Beatport

Posted on by rosscouch in News, Releases | Leave a comment

For our 40th release we offer you the third in our ‘Body Rhythm Remixed’ series in which we let other producers take a track of their choosing from the label’s back catalogue to give a new lick of paint.

This time around we’ve chosen to go for a blend of youth and experience, mixing in some established producers with a number of up and coming production talents.

The release is available to buy on promo now at BEATPORT and will be available in all the other usual online stores in just two weeks time.

First up we have Nick Devon’s take on the popular ‘Turn It Up’ track from last year. Hailing from Greece, Nick is only just starting to emerge as a producer with a handful of releases on label’s like 3am Recordings and AcunaDeep and we feel he’s going to be doing big things in the future.

Next up we’ve got an update of the best selling track of all time on the label – Kirby’s remix of ‘Playin’ Jazz’ which was a No.1 hit on Beatport’s Deep House chart when it first came out back in 2008. Last year we spotted a YouTube video which featured a talented trumpet player from Moscow, Semyon Markevich aka SilverT riffing over the top of the track. We liked it so much we asked him to record it and Kirby has now cut it up and inserted it into his mix, giving it a fresh new feel for 2012.

Friend of the label Krummstoff has been hitting the Beatport charts hard lately which his releases on the likes of Dutchie Music and Brown Eyed Boyz in addition to his debut album last year on LowFlow. He opted to give ‘Spanish Dancer’ a rework, and a very good one it is too.

Germany’s Silt has been on our radar since his excellent ‘Rising’ release on Plastic City last year and is another producer on our ‘one’s to watch’ list. On this occasion he’s done a very nice deep house interpretation of ‘The Cruise’.

Jevne is another good friend who, along with being a DJ and producer, is also the mastermind behind the excellent OneThirty imprint ans he’s produced a tasty slice of underground deepness with his mix of’Kama Sutra’.

Finally we bring to you new Australian talent in the shape of the Sellouts who burst onto the scene last year with tracks on labels like Miguel Mig’s Salted Music and Sebastian Davidson’s Nightbird Music. Opting to take the tempo down a few notches we get a chilled out, hypnotic take on ‘Fall Into Love’ here.

Don’t forget, the release is out now at BEATPORT.

This one has received DJ support from a number of industry notables including Jimpster, Jody Wisternoff, Alex Niggeman, Neil Quigley and Steve Mill.

Ross Couch ‘Future Shock’ And Rasmus Faber Remix Charting At Beatport And Traxsource

Posted on by rosscouch in News | Leave a comment

I’m happy to say that 2012 has got off to a good start for my latest music releases.

First up, the original mix of ‘Future Shock‘ from my first Body Rhythm release of the year has hit the Beatport Deep House Top 100.

It first entered at No.85 on Sunday and has since worked it’s way up to No.64.

Meanwhile, my remix of Rasmus Faber Ft Beldina – ‘Good Times Come Back‘ on Farplane Records has been steadily climbing up the charts over at Traxsource since it was released their last week.

It’s currently at No.20 on the Soulful chart, and No.32 on the overall Traxsource Top 100.

Traxsource has been a good site for me lately as ‘Ross Couch Ft Lazarusman – ‘Wide Open Spaces (Organic Mix)‘ also reached No.20 on the Soulful chart, while my ‘Travelogue‘ compilation rose to No.8 on the album chart when it came out in December.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come in 2012.  Thanks to everyone who’s been buying the tracks, very much appreciated!
