Also out yesterday was two new remixes I’ve done for Japan’s own DJ19 on his 19Box label.

Those with long memories may recall that I’ve remixed for DJ19 a long time ago – in fact it was my first ever vinyl remix for the Panther label in 2001.

Now I’m remixing an old track of his called ‘Breakin’ Of The Dawn’.  There’s a house mix and a latin reprise and you can  get your hands on it on promo exclusively at BEATPORT.

And finally, don’t forget that my ‘Travelogue Vol.2’ compilation also came out recently and is currently available in all the usual online stores.  It recently cracked the Traxsource album chart Top 10.

Ross Couch – Sounds Underground EP Hits The Traxsource Top 10

Posted on by rosscouch in News, Releases | Leave a comment

My latest release, the ‘Sounds Underground EP‘ has been enjoying a successful promo period over at Traxsource over the past 10 days.

Last night one of the tracks. ‘Somebody Like You‘ made it to No.5 on the Soulful House Chart, and is currently No.13 on the overall sales chart on the site.

Meanwhile, the full EP has also hit No.6 on the overall singles chart on Traxsource.

The other two tracks are performing well too with ‘Confession‘ at No.26 on the Soulful chart (no.71 overall) and ‘Sounds Underground‘ reaching No.38 on the Deep House chart.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who’s helped it get to this point by buying the tracks from the site, and also for the DJ’s who’ve been supporting it.  I’ve been lucky enough to have some legitimate house legends like Joey Negro, Grant Nelson and Terry Hunter charting ‘Somebody Like You’ which has been a great help.

The release hits other stores from tomorrow (Monday, May 6th) and then we’re just two weeks away from the next release which I’m delighted to say will be a downtempo offering from the one and only Shur-I-Kan.

Stay tuned!

Ross Couch – Restore My Soul EP – Body Rhythm 053: Out Now

Posted on by rosscouch in News, Releases | Leave a comment

Today marks the release of my latest EP entitled ‘Restore My Soul’ on my Body Rhythm label.

This one sees me head back into downtempo territory after the recent success of tracks like ‘Dusk Til Dawn’ (four months in the Beatport Chillout Top 100 peaking at No.12 and spending three months in the Official German Chillout Chart) and ‘Migration (Original Mix)’ (in the Beatport Chillout Top 100 for 2 1/2 months and Topped Juno’s Downtempo chart).

There’s three tracks to choose from on this one and rest assured there’s no ambient snoozers here!  Instead I’m mixing up elements of funk, jazz, breakbeat, soul and trip-hop that will hopefully tickle your fancy whether you can find a place for it in your next DJ set, in your car stereo or on your headphones.

Support for the new EP coming from forward thinkers like Shur-I-Kan, Jody Wisternoff, Richard Earnshaw and Vincent Kwok.

I’m having a lot of fun making these tracks and have built up a stockpile of them over the past few months so look out for more in the future and potentially an album too if all goes well!
